Job Description: We're looking for a skilled mechanic to join our Service Department team. Depending on your skillset you may be tasked with basic repairs, assemblies, performing larger service packages or a combination of these tasks. Shop experience is preferred. Technical aptitude and a desire to learn are a must. 

Job Responsibilities:
Complete repairs to Urbane’s Service Department standards.
Tire installation and flat fixes
Basic adjustments (brakes, gears, bearings, wheel true)
Accessory installation (fenders, racks, etc.)
Cable and housing and brake pad installation
To perform basic repairs according to shop standards of quality
To perform basic repairs within established time limits
Perform bicycle Safety Checks
Bike builds up to $2500 retail value
Aid and take direction from other Service Department team members to help complete repairs and services.
Test-ride bikes to ensure proper operation
Update work orders in point of sale system with serial numbers, name of assembler and stage of completion bike is in.
Stock tools, supplies and parts as required
Maintain a clean work station throughout the day, empty bins and sweep floor at end of shift
Maintain clear communication with Service Writer, Head Mechanic, and Customer as required by the job at hand
Other duties as assigned.

Velofix WR Guelph is looking for a full time bike mechanic to operate the Velofix van in Waterloo Region & Guelph. You will be working from a customized Mercedes Benz Sprinter van with all of the racks, tools parts and accessories to provide everything from quick tune-ups to complete overhauls. Working independently, you will travel from client to client providing high-quality repairs and maintenance as well as providing guidance, advice and exceptional customer service at the customer’s convenience and at their location of choice.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Interface directly with the customer to assess service needs.
Bicycle assembly, inspection, repair, and complete overhaul of customers’ bicycles. Must be proficient in both new and older/vintage bicycles.

Job Description: The Bike Medics was a business my father and I started and ran Manitoulin Island for 20 years.
